Abstract:
In modern days the importance of electric vehicle(EV) is increasing due to emission free mechanism. Also Electrical machines has following advantages over IC engines
  1. Wide speed range
  2. High torque and power
  3. High efficiency
  4. Suitable load- torque curve for EV.
  5. Low acoustic noise
With advancement in motor design in recent years many motor like Induction, BLDC, SRM are coming ahead for best options for EV. Out of this all BLDC motor provides the convincing characteristics compared to other machines. And can be the used as traction for EV’s.
Reliable robust and fault tolerant drive control is important part of EV, so research in the advance electric-drive is challenging. This investigation deals with dynamic modeling of BLDC motor, considering the automotive load scenario like Road profiles, drive cycles etc., then drive operations and model based control strategy.
Eventually control technique will be realized on FPGA or Microcontroller platform and simulation results will be validated against experimental setup.
